Mouth-Ulcers

Mouth ulcers (Canker sores) are those painful lesions that occur on the gum, inside of the lips and other areas of the mouth. While most of these sores go away in a week or two, they can make drinking, eating, etc quite uncomfortable.

There could be many reasons for mouth ulcers, ranging from vitamin or mineral deficiency, indigestion, food allergy, toothpaste allergy, stress, lack of sleep, diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or even mouth cancer.

One of the most common reasons for mouth ulcers is Vit- B deficiency – (Vit-B12, specifically, also known as Cobalamin). A vitamin B-complex tablet will help in such a case. Vitamin-B9 (also known as Folate) deficiency also can cause canker sores. More on Vit-B @ https://nuvovivo.com/blog/b-vitamins/

Organ meat, Egg, Leafy veggies, fruits, and legumes are good sources of Vitamin B.

Iron deficiency or anaemia is yet another common reason for canker sores. Deficiency of mineral zinc can also cause mouth ulcers

Drink plenty of water, avoid spicy food and rinse with salt water, including a nutritional supplement containing vitamin B complex and iron as an immediate possible remedy for mouth ulcer.

However, if the mouth ulcer does not reduce in a weeks time, it is highly recommended to consult a qualified medical practitioner.
